Mohali district all set to welcome its third private university.
Mohali: With the allotment of land for Amity university in Mohali, the district is now set to get its third private university here.
The GMADA has allotted 40 acres approx to Ritnand Balved education groundwork (Amity) at IT metropolis here for developing the college.
The district already has its two private universities, one is Chandigarh University at Gharuan village while the second university, Plaksha university, was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Punjab, Capt. Amarinder Singh at the IT city.
Housing and Urban Development Minister, Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, stated GMADA had invited many invitations for the allotment of a land at IT City . In response, two educational group – Amity and AP Goyal Charitable Trust, Shimla had applied. The scrutiny committee evaluated both applications as per the policy criteria and encouraged Ritnand Balved Education Foundation for allotment.
In keeping with the GMADA authorities, the land has been dispensed to the university for Rs 2.90 crore per acre.
